La Fondazione Leone Moressa è un istituto di studi e ricerche nato nel 2002 da un’iniziativa della Associazione Artigiani e Piccole Imprese di Mestre CGIA. La Fondazione Leone Moressa ha acquisito specifiche qualifiche e competenze legate allo studio del fenomeno migratorio indirizzato in maniera prevalente ai temi dell’economia dell’immigrazione. Le analisi si sviluppano in particolare nello studio, solo per citare alcune tematiche, delle dinamiche del mercato del lavoro straniero, della quantificazione dei redditi e delle retribuzioni degli immigrati, del fenomeno imprenditoriale, della povertà delle famiglie straniere, delle dinamiche demografiche, del gettito fiscale prodotto dalla popolazione migrante, dei flussi delle rimesse verso l’estero. La lettura dei dati viene sempre accompagnata da valutazione e monitoraggio delle dinamiche strutturali, quali il mercato del lavoro e le politiche per l’immigrazione che sottendono i fenomeni investigati.
Attraverso la divulgazione di paper e pubblicazioni e la promozione di seminari, conferenze e convegni anche con altre istituzioni e organizzazioni del territorio, l‘attività di ricerca è finalizzata alla diffusione della conoscenza e alla valorizzazione delle differenti espressioni culturali degli stranieri soggiornanti in Italia e all’individuazione di percorsi di integrazione.

Profile. The Leone Moressa Foundation of Mestre (Venice) is a research institute dedicated to the study of the economics of immigration. The Foundation has been instituted in 2002 by the initiative of the Artisans and Small Businesses Association of Mestre (CGIA) with the purpose of realizing analyses and studies on the presence of foreigners in the national territory, studying in depth social, but especially economical, issues.
The Leone Moressa Foundation promotes the scientific research aimed to the study of immigration by means of the collection and the elaboration of data regarding this phenomenon and the multiethnic relationships. The purpose of the Foundation is spreading the knowledge and highlighting the different cultural expressions of the foreigners living in Italy, therefore identifying integration paths, through the diffusion to the public of papers and publications that are promoted during seminars, lectures and conferences. The scientific director of the Leone Moressa Foundation is Professor Stefano Solari, associate lecturer of Political Economy at the University of Padua. The method adopted by the Leone Moressa Foundation for its researches is the result of an efficient mix between the Quantitative analysis (data analysis, analysis of statistical records, processing of official banks databases, simulation of actual cases) and the Qualitative research (interviews with operators representative samples, telephone interviews, face to face interviews, surveys, opinion panels, focus groups, deliberative democracy).
The Leone Moressa Foundation has acquired specific qualifications in many areas related to the economics of immigration, such as the analysis related to the flows of remittances towards the foreign countries, the foreign labor market dynamics, the quantification of the incomes and the wages of the immigrants, the study of the entrepreneurial phenomenon, the poverty of the foreign families, the demographic dynamics, only to quote some of them.
